Pierre Cardin x IKEA

Concept development · Exhibition design · Experience design · Graphic design · Visualization

This proposal aims to relocate Pierre Cardin: Future Fashion to an IKEA store. We based this project on the parallelism between the designer who single-handedly democratized fashion, and the company that has spread the concept of “democratic design” across the globe the exhibition in the past decades. By moving Cardin to IKEA we are bringing the exhibition into a naturally interactive setting and familiar scenario without compromising the story being told. Our goal is to get closer to the visitors figuratively and literally, by bringing the mannequins down to the floor and introducing them into the IKEA showroom tableaux.

  • Pierre Cardin and IKEA are both known in their industries for the democratization of design but also globalization and inclusivity

  • Ready-to-wear & ready-to-assemble

  • Multidisciplinary approach of both companies

  • Bringing culture to a day-to-day family experience

This project was designed in collaboration with Mustafa Ecer. We both worked jointly in the development of the concept and content research. I focused on creating a visual identity that combined both brands, while he created an architectural visual representation of that resulted combination.
